An American Idol once said that “In the future everyone will be famous for fifteen minutes!”

The future is now!

I think this statement displays a profound awareness of human nature and is both a reflection and prediction central to the ideologies of the pop art movement …

In turn this passage inspired me to better understand humanity in the present world by trying to find out how Andy’s quote was relevant today. I soon began focusing on people’s insatiable relationship with the media. I needed to find the essence of fame in today’s culture and then find a way to cleverly and succinctly depict it.

My research had many focuses including advertising, photography, print, viral, word of mouth, television and of course web but my main focus areas soon became reality TV and the internet. From there I took an idea and found appropriate and specific examples that I thought would best convey my message.

To get a good understanding of the way Warhol thought I was forced to look closely at the inherent beauty within the subject matter, of things we see every day and pay little attention to. By harnessing the existing power of the chosen logos and reapplying them to Warhol’s saying I was then able to add validity to Andy’s words

yes, but at the same time, think about all of these ppl who have recently been discovered on youtube and what not and have actually been interviewed on tv shows such as Ellen and the Tyra show! there have actually been child singers who have been discovered because of sites like this (one of which was then given a contract through oprah [link]) while a mans unique way of using his twitter account resulted in a tv show being based off of his tweets [link] :nod: and let us not forget Justen Bieber who was discovered on youtube XD

it's remarkable what these sites have the potential to do, but i totally agree with what you're saying in terms of the lifespan of many sites of this nature XD look at myspace for instance o __ o;;
